Welcome

July 25th, 2007 by Steven B. Haber

TO ALL STUDENTS AND PARENTS/GUARDIANS:

Welcome to Wilmington Manor Elementary School. Our faculty and staff are committed to creating an atmosphere of academic and behavioral success. We believe that each student is unique and given the right direction can and will develop skills necessary to attain high levels of achievement, personally and academically.

We are fortunate to have dedicated teachers and staff members who work together to provide an excellent academic program for our students. We provide our students a solid foundation for further studies while encouraging each student to fulfill his or her potential. Providing a strong academic program has always been a vital part of Wilmington Manor Elementary School. We encourage students to first focus on their academics, then to participate in a variety of student activities that are available to them. Some of these activities are Math 24 club, band, chorus, and talent show.

Parental support is crucial to the success of our students; without this support, students do not have a solid foundation. We invite parents into the school for visitations, meetings, and/or activities. Volunteers are welcome to assist within classrooms and for various committee work through our very supportive PTA.

We hope that this is a rewarding school year and that your goals and objectives are met with success.

We are proud of the excellent education that our students receive, as evidenced by our students’ continued progress across all demographics and our outstanding staff. Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) on the state tests has yielded a SUPERIOR SCHOOL RATING.

Wilmington Manor is a neighborhood school in the Colonial School District that services students who live in the developments of Penn Acres, Manor Park, Hampton Walk, Wilmington Manor, Wilmington Manor Gardens and Leedom Estates.

  • We are nestled in the quiet, suburban community of Penn Acres on a 13-acre site that has sufficient open space and multiple playgrounds.

  • Our phone number is 302-323-2901.

Feeder pattern changes will occur in the 2007-2008 school year, resulting in modified boundary lines for the District’s developments. Click on the COLONIAL DISTRICT WEBSITE link to the left. Then click on the District’s link entitled View Adjusted Student Assignments for the 2007-2008 School Year.

Contact Us

July 10th, 2007 by Steven B. Haber

We believe that two-way parent communications leads to successful programming for all children and builds a positive atmosphere where all pupils of different races, creeds and abilities thrive.

Over the summer our staff will create separate webpages so that communication between the community and school will be improved for the 2007-2008 school year. Our staff hopes that these blogs provide another convenient form of two-way communication that gives you the information that you desire, rather than leaving a voice mail message on a classroom answering machine. Blogs are updated periodically.

On the STAFF PAGE in the column to the left, you will be able to send emails to any teacher’s school address and connect to their school homepage. The intent of each homepage is to provide standardized information for parents and guardians about assignments, upcoming classroom/grade level events, and important announcements. Click on the PAGE link to the left.

When contacting the school by phone dial 302-323-2901 and ask for the teacher’s classroom. After 4:00 PM the answering machine is engaged, so you will need to know which telephone number to contact any classroom or office. The extension is the number of the room preceded by 10. For example, Room 14 would have the extension 1014. Click on the TELEPHONE #s PAGE in the column to the left.
